Local Emergency Planning Committee
Each county in the country is required by law to have a Local Emergency Planning Committee. The purpose of the committee is to bring together industry, first responders, and citizens to evaluate and provide planning for a coordinated response to a hazardous materials incident in Marion County.
Part of the planning process includes conducting drills to evaluate the community preparedness. The Marion County LEPC has conducted local two drills in 2013.
The Marion County Local Emergency Planning Committee meets quarterly at the Western Sizzlin in Jasper. If you are interested in attending our next meeting or would like further information please scroll down to the contact box below.
